Our Volunteers - Ciana Mead

Hello everyone, my name is Ciana Mead. I was born in Southeastern Colorado, I'm in my fifties.  My dad, a farmer, was hired by Boeing in Wichita, so I was raised and married in Wichita, Kansas.  I have one daughter.  She is a machinist and an all around capable woman.  My husband is a marriage and family therapist, now, after retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lt. Col.  

We have lived in Florida, Arizona, Hawaii, Virginia, California, South Carolina, and now Kansas.  I love animals especially cats (I have three) and I take care of my loving mother-in-law who has alzheimers dementia.

I'm a semi retired potter/sculptor, mixed media artist/craftsman.  I am a volunteer for "Hearts of America" and by doing so I buy toys (mostly at the DAV), and imagine the joy on the faces of the children when they get the toys, shoes, and other supplies.  I hope and pray that God blesses these toys and everyone who touches them.
